Comments: Dear Rocklahoma, Over 20 years has passed since I fell in love with 80's metal. It seems like yesterday that I was 13 years old..in the safe corridors of my Metal Edge and Circus wall-papered room...donning blond wigs...stuffing my bra...and yes caking on the make-up to the likes of look What the Cat Dragged in by Poison. My first car was a 1984 Chrysler Laser named......you guessed it...BRET. :) Years later I would win 2nd place in the Biggest Poison fan contest in Casper Wyo. The winners received backstage passes to Rikki Rockett's Birthday Bash...I was later devastated to find out Bobby Dall had fell off the stage...game over that year. However I stayed the course with those guys...and I don't miss a Poison concert...if they're playin'...I'm there. It's this kind of loyalty to our fellow Metal Bands that makes Rocklahoma possible. I have attended Rocklahoma for 2 years now...and I find it a great comfort to see thousands upon thousands of metal fans from around the world...every bit as loyal as I am...and every bit as passionate. Rocklahoma is an outlet to bask in all that is Metal..in all its glory. From the day I fly back home to Wyoming till the next year when I step off the plane in Tulsa...I LIVE for the next Rocklahoma. Over the years I have been nicknamed Rockstar and Free Spirit. It would be an honor for those nicknames to evolve into the title Miss Rocklahoma. It would be an honor to represent a population of people just like me...who live for metal. It would be an honor to represent a festival that remembers the bands who tirelessly sacrificed night after night, year after year, to present Metal to their fans. At 35 years of age, my mother STILL doesn't understand my loyalty and love of metal. She doesn't understand why I take a week off of work...fly across the country...rock out..and drink beer for a week. I love you Rocklahoma...because YOU understand me. It would be an honor to represent you as Miss Rocklahoma 2009.

Director of Operations Dave Giencke said, "After Thin Lizzy's cancellation, we wanted to bring in a band that has consistently been one of the fan favorites!" "Jackyl's energy and stage presence is like no other band who has ever performed at Rocklahoma and they promise to step up even more!"

Front Man Jessie James Dupree added, "I was equally disappointed that Thin Lizzy cancelled their tour. I am a huge fan of theirs and wanted to make it down to Rocklahoma see them perform. Since I was going to be there anyway and there’s an open slot, it made sense to have Jackyl perform." "Jackyl Stock 09, let's get it on!"... Read More...
